2005

With one truck and a mission to help others protect their information, Confidential Records began offering secure mobile shredding services in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

2008

We became NAID AAA certified for mobile shredding. This certification is the highest level of quality assurance in the industry. It verifies secure data destruction companies’ services compliance with all known data protection laws through scheduled and surprise audits by trained, accredited security professionals, fulfilling customers’ regulatory due diligence obligations. These audits verify the following items: Company policies and procedures, employment screening to include background checks, drug testing, and US Citizenship, Quality control plans for size reduction and final disposal of all paper material, shredding equipment testing and validation, documentation of services with clients and chain of custody procedures, insurance and licensing requirements.

2010

We expanded our service area and started offering shredding services in La Crosse. This included a drop-off location within Central States Warehouse. This location offers an affordable option for residential customers with smaller amounts of shredding in the west-central part of Wisconsin and the southeastern part of Minnesota.

2011

Confidential Records Inc began working with local businesses to offer shredding events to local communities. These events are sponsored by the local business at a reduced rate and allow residents in those communities to bring up to 100lbs of paper material to be shredded for free. Since we began these events, we have shredded over 1 million pounds of paper and hosted over 400 events.

2017

Our service area expanded again to start offering shredding services in the Fox Valley. This included a drop-off location in Appleton located within Postal Express. This location is geared towards customers with smaller amounts of shredding and is an affordable option for residential customers in the Fox Valley area.

2022

Established a paper baling facility to become more efficient. In stead of waiting in a line to empty our shredding trucks and be restricted to certain operating hours at the recycling center we can unload when we need to. Then the paper is baled and shipped to a paper mill directly. All our paper material is recycled 100%.

2024

We transitioned to new routing software that allowed us to utilize handheld scanners to record services for customers. Before this we were using printed tickets and a triplicate form for service. This new software allowed us to become more efficient with our routes and improve our service review and billing processes. We also began offering services in the Madison area.

2026

After 20 years of shredding paper, we updated our name to include shred, because that’s what we do! Confidential Records is now CR Shred. We are the same secure shredding company with a new, more recognizable name.
